Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to own a firearm to take a class?

No. New Owner Fundamentals and NRA Basic Pistol are both great starting points if you don't yet own a firearm. Rental firearms and ammunition can be arranged in advance — just let us know when you book.

I've never shot a gun before. Is that a problem?

Not at all — most students start with zero experience. Every course begins with the fundamentals of safety and handling before anyone touches live ammunition.

What should I bring to class?

Closed-toe shoes, a collared or high-necked shirt (to keep hot brass off your skin), eye and ear protection (we also have loaner gear available), and your firearm and ammunition if you own them and were asked to bring them.

What is the minimum age to take a course?

Adult courses generally require students to be 18 or older. The Family & Youth Safety Course is designed for younger participants with a parent or guardian present. Contact us if you have questions about a specific student's age.

Do you sell firearms or ammunition?

No. Aeterna Training Academy provides instruction only. We do not sell, transfer, or broker firearms or ammunition.

What is your cancellation policy?

Full refunds are available up to 48 hours before your scheduled session. Cancellations within 48 hours may be rescheduled at no charge, subject to availability. See the Range Rules & Policies page for full details.

How do I pay?

We accept Apple Pay, debit/credit card, and Venmo. Visit the Payment page to complete checkout securely online, or pay in person at the range.

Will I receive a certificate?

Courses that follow the official NRA curriculum (NRA Basic Pistol, PPITH, PPOTH, RSO) include an NRA course completion certificate. Custom and private sessions can include a certificate of completion on request.

Do you offer private or one-on-one instruction?

Yes — Private One-on-One Coaching is available and can be tailored to any skill level or goal, including concealed carry readiness, competition prep, or simply building comfort and confidence.

Is training available for concealed carry permit requirements?

Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOTH) and NRA Basic Pistol are commonly used to satisfy carry-permit training requirements. Requirements vary by state and county — please confirm your local requirements before booking, and we're happy to help you figure out which course fits.
